FRESNO, Calif., Jan. 4, 2024 /PRNewswire/ – The PATH Alliance, Inc. (PATH) announces it has achieved System and Organization Controls (SOC 1) Type 2 compliance, a widely recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Achieving this compliance demonstrates how PATH safeguards customer data and maintains effective operating controls. The examination was performed by Moss Adams, one of the largest accounting and consulting firms in the nation.

The completion of the SOC 1 Type 2 examination typifies PATH’s commitment to create and maintain the most stringent controls needed to ensure the highest quality services are provided to their customers. The examination specifically reviews group administration services, financial reporting controls, customer service processes, regulatory compliance reporting and filing timeliness.
The examination and findings independently confirm PATH meets AICPA’s rigorous trust services criteria for effective internal controls and processes to insure each of these areas are accurate and managed with integrity.

Lisa has an extensive background in business administration, finance, compliance, and insurance. Lisa began her professional career in the insurance industry before working in the education field for 22 years. Lisa served as Director of Business Operations and chair of the safety committee for a large private school. She had oversight responsibility for workers’ compensation contracts with a self-insured group and served on the SIGs Board of Trustees.
Zac has been at the helm of PATH’s corporate operations for over four years, expertly coordinating and integrating various components to ensure outstanding service for our clients. He plays a key role in underwriting prospective new members across our groups and provides vital support to our broker network. Zac holds a Property and Casualty Broker license from the California Department of Insurance. Prior to joining PATH, he gained valuable international experience in marketing and public relations, collaborating with top executives and business founders to create impactful brand messaging and targeted marketing strategies. Zac graduated summa cum laude from Santa Clara University with a B.S. in Economics and a B.S.C. in Finance.
Jon is a Senior Vice President and principal at The PATH Alliance, Inc., bringing extensive leadership experience from both the public and private sectors. He focuses on enhancing business value while fostering a culture of safety. His career includes pivotal roles such as Chief of the Office of Self-Insurance Plans (OSIP), Assistant Chief at Cal-OSHA, and a senior executive at the world’s largest third-party administrator. Additionally, Jon taught entrepreneurship, risk management, and insurance as an adjunct professor at Sierra College for fifteen years and served as President and Board Chairman of the National Safety Council’s California Safety Center.
Jerry is the founder and President of The PATH Alliance, a leading self-insurance group administrator and advisory firm focused on California self-insurance. With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Jerry started his career as a claims adjuster with Fresno Unified School District in the 1980s. He has since held various managerial and executive roles with private employers, law firms, and national insurance carriers, specializing in property casualty and workers’ compensation. Jerry has successfully advised and assisted over 60 firms in achieving self-insured status in California.
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, Gabriela leverages her expertise in data management systems and information technology to drive data-driven decision-making and optimize operational efficiency. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, focusing on Information Systems, she brings a strong analytical background to her work. Her background includes collaborating with educational institutions, where she assisted in developing a data management system to streamline staff processes. Her passion for technology fuels a commitment to continuous learning, as she strives to implement innovative solutions that improve business processes. In addition to her professional pursuits, she enjoys exploring new technological advancements to stay at the forefront of industry trends.
Scott is a distinguished leader in the insurance and risk management field, boasting over 27 years of experience in the workers’ compensation industry. As the head of PATH’s underwriting department, he develops policies and guidelines that ensure high-quality candidates for group membership are approved and accurately priced. Currently, Scott serves as President of Comprehensive Risk Services and has previously held the position of President at US Specialty Underwriters. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Insurance from Ferris State University and holds the professional designations of Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
Dan has more than 40 years of experience as a California workers’ compensation attorney representing employers. He has served as a Judge Pro Tem with the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. Dan’s deep familiarity with the workers’ compensation system in California makes him a tremendous asset to PATH and the employers we serve. Dan also served as the President of the California Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney Association.
Ellen has 30 years of business operations experience, including managerial accounting and business management, and has been with PATH since the beginning. Ellen serves as the controller with managerial responsibility for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and reconciliations. She maintains a system of controls over claim and office accounting transactions and provides financial analyses. During fourteen years of professional experience, she worked in Certified Public Accounting and Law offices as both a controller and office administrator.
Kristina has fifteen years’ professional experience in the areas of data analytics and reporting, budgeting, compliance and governance, project and program management to achieve client engagement and drive satisfaction. Kristina earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Fresno State University.
Roxana’s professional experience has been focused on driving customer experience, satisfaction, and project management. She has worked for more than ten years in the banking industry in various customer-facing roles including branch management. Roxana is bi-lingual and attended Fresno City College.
Hal is the Director of Business Development for The PATH Alliance. His extensive background in sales, insurance, and business management has given him a unique perspective into the needs of employers as they navigate the world of workers compensation and self-insurance. Hal graduated Summa cum laude from American Intercontinental University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
